"In so little time, I learned so much. I'd say my knowledge in photography increased 200%. And I had a great time."
----Erika Lankenau, Mexico
"Andy's Colour II class is a carefully designed workshop suitable for serious photographers who want to improve their techniques and produce more creative photos. His clear presentation and motivated way of teaching made the learning of photography a relaxing and enjoyable activity. This is apparently attributed to his abundant knowledge and experience in photography. Rather than paying too much attention to how to use a camera, his class emphasises how to compose through the viewfinder to identify those unique and attractive elements within the picture space. Not the least, Andy charges a reasonable tuition fee that is arguably the lowest of similar classes in the Tokyo area."
----Dongyun Hao, China
"The most useful money I've spent so far in photography."
----Max Clark, England

"After taking Color Photo I and II, I found my photos starting to capture the magic and mystery of Japan. Better, I knew what worked and what didn't.
"Andy Barker is a fine teacher: patient, organized, with a quiet wit and kindness that encourages his students to compose photographs from their own hearts. His classes and website are such a delight because of this."
----Patricia Yarrow, USA

"There was a seven-year break between classes before I went on to Color Photo II. I was amazed at how much technology had changed photography during those seven years. I was equally impressed to see how quickly Andy had adapted the new digital technology, making it very much his own in the process. This class offered me a chance to dip my feet into a new and continuously evolving art form. It was not all about mastering unfamiliar digital terms, however. The class taught us that communication--on many occasions with total strangers--is the key ingredient that separates a good picture from a great one."
----Shin Saoshiro, Japan
"I learned that simple shots work best. Before I thought that good photos had to have many different aspects to them. Now I know that too much information can be distracting and more can go wrong!"
----Steve DeAlmeida, England
"I learned a great deal more from the Colour Photo II class than I had expected. How to set up and use studio lighting effectively was something I wanted to learn about. These techniques and others such as slow-sync flash have helped me take the type of pictures I want. In fact, the day after Andy showed us how to use a slave flash and umbrella, I went to Yodobashi Camera and bought all the equipment!
"In addition, learning how to critique my own photographs by analysing them according to four aspects--sharpness, exposure, composition and impact--has helped me make better pictures.
"I've really enjoyed this course and am sad it's over."
----Andrew Beveridge, Australia
"Andy provides excellent notes, lots of inspiration, plus the chance to go on field trips to beautiful places you ordinarily wouldn't go to when living in Tokyo. Also the group environment is not only fun, but allows you to feed off each other's ideas."
----Juliet Rowan, New Zealand
"Andy's Colour Photo I class was the best way to spend my day off and I only have one holiday each week. It was so much fun, I wish I could take it over again."
----Hiromi Kawanabe, Japan
"Great class not only because we learned many brand new techniques unknown to me, but it taught me that lines, shapes, colors, and textures can be beautiful."
----Maria Zurabova, Russia
"The photographic techniques presented in Color Photography II are extremely practical--I now use them all the time. Andy is good at explaining salient points and allowing students to investigate on their own."
----Edward To, Hong Kong
"I've made great strides as a photographer since taking Color Photography I and II and am now hooked for life!"
----Campbell Gunn, Scotland
"I was a complete beginner in photography. Color Photography I helped me learn more about my camera, understand difficult terminology, and grasp the basics of digital photography. Andy challenges you to be more creative and see picture opportunities that you were not aware of before. Also for a non-English speaking person like me, Andy keeps his explanations simple to understand for anyone."
----Carolina Miranda Engel, Panama
"I particularly liked Andy's informal teaching methods and his ability to weave his many years of photographic knowledge and experience into each lesson of Colour Photography II."
----John Lippett, England
